These boots were made for walking! Two Venezuelan boy scouts departed Caracas on January 11, 1935 and walked 25 miles a day for two years in order to make it to the 1937 Boy Scout Jamboree in Washington DC.
Rafael Angel Petit and Juan Carmona walked over 800 miles to make it to Capitol Hill.
Nearly 30,000 scouts descended on Washington to sightsee, pitch a tent city on the lawn and meet with senators and congressmen – some of whom were former scouts themselves.
