Meet the 15 year old ski prodigy Andrea Mead Lawrence. In these photographs Andrea is practicing for Winter Olympics at Pico Peak, VT in 1947. Andrea’s family owned and operated Pico Peak ski area in Rutland County, VT. She grew up on the slopes. At 14 he joined the National Team and at age 15 participated in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where she placed eighth in the slalom, and sixth at the1950 World Championships in Aspen. Andrea was made captain of the women’s Olympic ski team at age 19.
