The hoverboard was discovered by Marty McFly in Back To The Future Part II (1989), the sequel where McFly must travel to 2015 to prevent his future son from making a grave mistake.

For teenagers of 2015, hoverboards will be an updated, ultra-modern skateboard with untapped potential for future youth culture.  During the nineties, rumors flew that hoverboards were in fact real, but blocked by parent groups from commercial released because of safety concerns.


This year, Mattel announced the creation of a replica hoverboard that “glides” over surfaces — to be released Christmas 2012.
