Emma Girls

Emma Willard School in Troy, NY was founded in 1814 by Emma Willard in an effort to provide girls with the same  level of education as boys. It is now a private, all girls boarding school. The photographs provide an excellent visual timeline of young girls scholarly life and looks from late 1800s to 1950s.
