Students from Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School in Chicago, IL pose in front of a mural.
Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School was launched in the 70s in an attempt to combat high drop-out rates and unaddressed educational problems in the Puerto Rican community in Illinois. The school didn’t discriminate on the basis of nationality, race, or sex within its student body but produced enthusiastic Puerto Rican activists with a strong sense of pride.
