Deep End

Deep End is about love in the most unlikely, and humid, of places.

Mike lives in the suburbs of London and needs cash, so he takes a job at the local bathhouse. While the patrons’ lecherous advances leave Mike relatively unscathed, it is his initially innocent attraction to his coworker that creates waves. The premise is simple but the film drew substantial acclaim following its release at the 1970 Venice Film Festival. The original soundtrack became almost as famous as the film, with tracks from Can and Cat Stevens.

Deep End will receive a limited run from December 16-22 at BAMcinématek.
