Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers

Fourteen year old Frankie Lymon, the genius soprano doo-wop singer and songwriter, talks about how he spends his allowance with an English interviewer. Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers had a huge influence on The Jackson Five and are reputed to be the direct predecessor of the girl group sound.

Tragically, Frankie was found dead in his grandmother’s bathroom at the age of 25. He died of a heroin overdose. Below, an interesting interview with Frankie at the age of 16.
