Girl Scouts, 1918

Margaret and Dorothy star in the Girl Scouts propaganda/silent film ‘The Golden Eaglet’ released in 1918, soon after WWI. “Nothing to do, nowhere to go.” They’ve exhausted the soda parlour, bored with their town, Margaret and Dorothy sigh – now what? All of a sudden a troop of Girl Scouts appear, proudly marching in unison down the dusty street. I know! Join the Girl Scouts! “They have a great old time in the woods, they say.” And so then dear Margaret and Dorothy train to become the newest members of the Girl Scouts.
