Raggare Finland

A greasy mix of redneck and teddy boy, the Raggare are a subculture that began in Sweden and spread to other Nordic regions. The photographs here are of Finnish raggares during the 1970s and ’80s. Denim on denim, letterman jackets, red lips, American flags, beer and fast cars. Raggare are still going on strong today, though many of these young things now sport pot bellies and saggy tattoos.
