Kate Moss, 15

In 1990 The Face magazine commissioned young photographer Corinne Day for a fashion shoot. Day cast a gawky, unknown school girl named Kate Moss for the session. They picked up some clothes at an Camden market, then headed for the beach to shoot. Moss appeared relaxed, happy and without pretense, frolicking about the sand. Day captured the iconic ’90s ‘realness’ and found her muse in Moss. Moss recalls, “I was just having a laugh. Corinne just wanted to bring out everything that I hated when I was 15. My bow legs, the mole on my breast, the way I laughed.” This photoshoot launched her career from unknown school girl to the Kate Moss.
